Key Performance Area

• Bulk water purchases from DWAF from the Ntshingwayo Dam.
• Bulk services and reticulation for Newcastle, Madadeni, Osizweni, Buffalo Flats, Kilbarchan, Ngagane and Charlestown.
• The strategic objections of this function is to provide at least a minimum level of service for all consumers within the Newcastle municipal area.

 Water Service Authority

• The aim of the WSA is to see that all communities within its area of jurisdiction is provided with potable water and safe sanitation in a sustainable manner. 
• The function of the WSA includes the bulk distribution and purchases of potable water.
• The Water Services Providers function has been transferred to uThukela Water (Pty) Ltd as a multi jurisdictional municipal entity owned by the Newcastle Municipality, Amajuba District Municipality and Umzinyathi District Municipality.
